From Sinaia station to the castle

From Sinaia railway station, Peleș Castle sits roughly two kilometres uphill — about a 25- to 30-minute walk. The route climbs through the town and past the seventeenth-century Sinaia Monastery, which is well worth a pause of its own, before the final stretch through the wooded royal grounds to the castle. It is a pretty walk in fair weather, but it is genuinely uphill, so allow a little more time than the distance suggests and wear comfortable shoes.
Taxi or Bolt from the station
If you would rather not climb, a taxi from the rank outside the station reaches the castle in about ten minutes for roughly 15–20 lei, and ride-hailing apps such as Bolt operate in Sinaia too. Either will drop you close to the entrance, from where a short walk on foot completes the journey — vehicles cannot go all the way to the castle door.
Winter conditions and practical advice
In the colder months, the uphill road and paths can be icy or snow-covered, and the walk is harder going; a taxi or Bolt is the easier and safer choice, especially if you are carrying bags or travelling with children. That said, the estate is beautiful under snow, so if you do choose to walk, take your time, wear sturdy footwear with good grip, and enjoy the winter quiet — there are far fewer visitors at that time of year.
